From “tell me a story” to “the end” in a minute
Step 1: Create the characters
Your child as the hero, a sibling, a grandparent, the dog — or someone entirely made up. Call them anything you like; a nickname works just as well. Then add a lesson if tonight needs one.
Step 2: Pick tonight’s feeling
A gentle bedtime story, a silly tale, a grand adventure or a curious mystery. Choose a length that fits tonight — from a few minutes to a long, slow wind-down.
Step 3: Read it — or make it a picture book
Your story is ready in under a minute and stays in your library. Want pictures? Turn it into a picture book, drawn in the style you like.
And if grandparents want to read along, share a link they can open — only if you choose to.

How much does Storywillow cost?
Storywillow is free to start, with 3 stories every month. Storyweaver, the paid plan, is $7.99 a month, or $59.99 a year with a 7-day free trial. It gives you 30 stories a month, longer stories, the Bedtime Narrator with soft ambient sound, and a cover illustration for every story. A picture book counts as three stories.
Do I have to use my child’s real name?
No. You create the characters and name them whatever you like — your child’s name, a nickname, or a hero you make up together. Many families use a nickname, especially for stories they plan to share.
Are the stories safe for my child?
You choose the characters, the lesson, the tone and the length, and every finished story goes through an automated safety check before you see it. If a story does not pass, it is never shown and the stories it used are returned to your account.
Who can see the stories we make, and where does what I type go?
Your stories stay private in your library unless you choose to share one, and you can stop sharing at any time. To write a story, what you enter is sent to OpenAI, and a story’s text goes to xAI if you use the Bedtime Narrator — only to make that story, never for ads, and never sold. The app asks your permission first.
How do I cancel?
Storyweaver is billed through the App Store or Google Play, so you cancel it from your phone’s subscription settings like any other app. You keep your plan until the end of the period you have paid for. Apple or Google handle payment — we never see your card.
